Cardano NYC Community Gathering

Sunday October 21st
3pm – 5pm
496 16th Street Brooklyn NY 11215 (corner of 10th Ave / Windsor Terrace/ Prospect Park)

RSVP – Details below

We are looking to gather a small group of Cardano enthusiasts interested activating and sustaining community efforts across the NYC area.

We see this informal gathering as a first step in understanding our personal interests and professional resources to help Cardano grow.

We do not intend this initial gathering to focus on deep technical aspects of Cardano.  Nor do we envision this group being fixated on discussions about the price of Ada or how to get rich quick.

We are looking for individuals passionate about the Cardano project and committed to growing the community.

We support any future efforts that might be organized by other NYC area Cardano Meetup.com groups (NYC Cardano organized by Alexander Tsoukias; Cardano Meetup organized by Qais and Harry Hur.)

Q: Biggest challenges for Cardano’s success?

e.g. Ethereum sucks air out of room

Q: What could this Cardano Group(s) do?

  • Compared to Meetup Groups?

Q: Do we help create Products

Do we help to build out….

Example: Cardano Cards

Do we help create ‘Cardano Cards’ Deck concept?

@heyfayehays   Created ‘Crypto Cards’ https://medium.com/@fayehays/visual-crypto-vol-1-acronyms-2674a80bba7

Example: Infographics

Building on current work:

  • Anniversary Infographics

Q:Do we help create more Content for Social Media world?

Content Curation – Highlight ‘Best of’

Problem to Solve:
Too much crappy content on Youtube of crypto coin amateurs who cannot pronounce Ada or communicate fundamentals of Cardano roadmap.

Signal of Change
Quality content coming from people like Philippe (Youtube Philpa) – accessible

Plan: Do we create a website that is curated ‘best of’ content?  How do we judge – vet ?

Create Original Content

Do we see upside to NYC Region focused content?
e.g. Newsletter, Twitter handle (@NYCardano), Youtube, et al

Q: How do we approach Events in NYC area?

Community-focused

  • Meetups
    • Two Meetups — Should we reach out?  Converge two into single
    • Encourage Meetups to be specialized
  • Hackathons

NYC Area Focused // NJ // Connecticut // LI

  • Do we try to encourage more localized groups?

Global focus

Leverage NYC as global hub to connect with people around the world

Q: Next Steps for this Group

  • Discussion on inviting Philippe in via Google Hangout — and talk about “What does it take to get Cardano Community growing?”
